Promised Immortality to Christ’s Truly Regenerated Followers

promised immortality for christians

Promised immortality to Christ’s truly regenerated followers. 1000 years life on earth is a pale comparison with the Christian promised immortality …. A brief life that is devotedly faithful to Jesus Christ as Lord and personal Savior is better off than a hundred years of a Christless existence. Leonardo da Vinci once said that “a life well-spent is a long life.” This thought, profound as it may appear, is still inadequate if used to describe the Christian hope of eternal life in heaven with God. Set side by side with the promised immortality through faith in Christ, a thousand years of life on Earth is just a pale in comparison.

Broken Spirit Leads to God and Faith in Jesus Christ

broken spirit leads to god contrite heart

We are closer to God only when we seem broken inwardly — in the spirit. It is the meaning of Psalm 51:17: “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.” Hence, trials are necessary for a balanced life! They are God’s will for us to believe and humble ourselves before Him. They are divine mechanisms to remind us of our dust origin. God is near to those experiencing a broken spirit and having a contrite or repentant heart.

Grace Plus Faith in Christ Needed to Live Forever

grace plus faith in christ

God’s love continues to overshadow our hearts and beings even if we deliberately ignore or reject Him. Termed as God’s common grace or undeserved love and kindness that is not salvific in form, He provides rain or the sunshine to both believers and unbelievers; to the righteous as well as to the unrighteous.

For we walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor. 5:7), since faith in God is faith in the unseen. Paul said that we need to walk or live by faith, not by sight. This admonition tells us not just to believe, but to keep on believing in God’s Word and to make it a way of life.

Daniel walked through faith in God. He worshiped Him daily against all odds until he was “cast into the lions’ den” because of his beliefs.

Genuine faith is just like the sun that shines continually beyond the dark, moonless night in some parts of the earth.

The Apostles did not pray to revive their faith (as if it were dead!), but to increase it to maturity.

Scriptures show that Stephen’s faith in our Lord Jesus was strengthened by the rain of stones that killed him.

To walk by faith thus is to live a life based on the “conviction of things not seen” (Heb. 11:1)—and the hope of eternal life in heaven through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Faith in God is faith in the Unseen.

Human Responsibility to Believe in Christ

human responsibility believe christ

We have a human responsibility to enter God’s kingdom and live in heaven forever. And that responsibility is our personal task to believe in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. It is the essence of John 3:16, the most quoted Scripture: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever BELIEVES in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Enter God’s Kingdom

C. H. Spurgeon once commented that little minds need Latin to express their shallow thoughts, more so on how to enter God’s kingdom. Unlike the artful deception of falsehood, truth needs but simple words. Its beauty and might is easily seen in its actual, rugged form. In only six common words, the apostle Paul penned one of the greatest Christian truths ever told: “I have been crucified with Christ.”
