Rich Children of God

The blessing of the Lord makes a man rich, and He adds no sorrows to it. Many millionaires in the US are of Jewish origin, hence the cliché: Where there’s a Jew, there’s a blessing. In Christ, we are more than a Jew—we are children of God. We are a blessed people!

Rich in Christ

rich children

In God’s eyes, His children are always rich, heirs of Christ! If we aren’t wealthy in cash today, we are in our Lord’s peace. If we don’t have properties, we’re rich just the same, for what’s Christ’s is ours too.

His Father’s mansion up there will soon be our home! “I go to prepare a place for you,”  Christ promised. What richness will it be—not just in a billion years but through eternity!

The blessing of the Lord, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (Prov. 10:22)

The Facts About God’s Children’s Worldly Riches

Even though the Bible is full of divine promises for the possibility of a Christian to become rich, it is also taught that the “sons of this age are more shrewd in relation to their own kind than the sons of light.” (Luke 16:8)

The devil even claimed ownership of the rich kingdoms of the world. Observe Matthew 4:8-9: “Again, the devil took Him to a very high mountain and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory; and he said to Him, ‘All these things I will give You [Christ], if You fall down and worship me.’”

A man can be rich even if he is not a Christian. The Christ-makes-you-rich message dominates the prosperity gospel pulpits. The good attitude and the positive thinking mantra to get rich overshadow their sermons. And to sound Christianese, they picnic on Malachi 3:10:

Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and test Me now in this,” says the Lord of hosts, “if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.

But God does not want to see His people less dependent upon Him. The apostles of Christ were not rich. Christ did not have the wealth of Bill Gates. All things being equal, millions of rich Christians also people the world. They are those supporting the spread of the Gospel.

Even God Cannot Help a Lazy Person Becomes Rich

As a poor person, can you be rich because of Jesus Christ? Of course, yes. Though the devil is the god of this world, Christ owns everything. In John 15:5, our Lord said that “without me, you can do nothing.”

Just bear in mind, however, that Christianity is not a good avenue for money making if your whole object is the accumulation of wealth. Love and serve Christ and your money will just follow according to His will.

Christianity is not “money, money, money.” Rather, it is about eternal life in heaven that is priceless.

Second, the accumulation of wealth is a formula, and one is risk taking, positivism, and the right attitude.

The patriarch Job was made rich by God, and the former’s formula was sheer faith, the keeping of good morals, and of course, hard work.

We don’t know the deep things of God. What was revealed in the Holy Scriptures in Psalm 24:33-34 is that “’A little sleep, a little slumber,A little folding of the hands to rest,’ Then your poverty will come as a robber And your want like ran armed man.”

When the issue is preconceived laziness, then even God Himself cannot help you out of poverty.
