My friend said, “If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.” One uneducated father, for example, paid his neighbor simply to read his son’s letter. How expensive would it be if you don’t understand basic Christian teachings? Or how costly it is to spend eternity in hell? This book, CHRISTIAN TEACHINGS REVISITED, shows to the reader the basics of Christianity such as how to get salvation and to stay saved from God’s judgment. Without an interest in the spiritual realm, the careless person could not see any value from this paper. I am not surprised since he is disinterested even in studying the Holy Bible. Sidney Bremer once said, “What is $200 to a horse?” If one is not interested in the salvation of his own soul from the penalty of sin in hell — if he is not interested in Christ’s free forgiveness for him to have eternal life after death! — then even Christ Himself cannot persuade him. No one can motivate him to study Christian doctrines as they don’t taste good to him. Christianity is just meaningless to him!

The Bible, however, taught that man is God-wired, he has a conscience, and his instincts always lead him to find a god. And if he cannot find one, he will invent one for his object of worship. The apostle Paul wrote that God did not hide from man. He revealed Himself “through what has been made, so that they are without excuse.” But man is corrupt. He “exchanged the glory of the incorruptible God for an image in the form of corruptible man and of birds and four-footed animals and crawling creatures.” He invented his idols made of wood and stone to appease his cravings for “someone bigger.” He created his own god to give him a sense of balance, fanatical satisfaction, and answer to life’s spiritual questions. Satan’s teaching to Eve now finds a place in everyone’s heart. Genesis 3:4-5 records how the devil deceived Eve:
From this Scripture, the devil deceived our first parents by saying there are incentives should they disobey God. One is immortality (you can keep your body forever, you will become deathless), and two: you will know right from wrong; you will become like God! When a man decides what kind of God he worships (made of wood or iron!), he decides from his satanic confidence that he knows right from wrong. When Christ told the Samaritan woman about her husband in John 4, she was convicted of her adultery (five husbands). She, however, insisted she had a religion “in this mountain” while the Jews worshipped in Jerusalem. (Vv. 19-20) It is an instance of the “I have a religion” mindset. “Don’t teach me. I know right from wrong.” I never expected this book to get acceptance by the closed-minded floods of people. I wrote this book, Christian Teachings Revisited, for both the truth-seekers and skeptics. Tons of Christian materials are flooding the market. And no one may put this book on his table or into his arms. But the people who would hate it would also kill Christ—the Central Figure in this paper—in their hearts every day. They would burn the Bible, upon which this work stands, at least in their memories. They hate even the genre of this work—as they hate everything related to Christ. For this, our Lord said:
For the open-minded ones, this book presents the eternal benefits of born-again Christianity. I want to share the following sketch of this paper:
This book is meaningless for the gospel-hardened people but surely important for the truth-seekers. As they said, “When the student is ready, the teacher appears.” This work aims to make Christian thought a worthy topic to explore.
