Jesus Christ said that He is the Giver of life, for He is the Life. That is the meaning of Christian life. Jesus our Lord is the Life, He is our Life. Observe John 10:27-28: “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they shall never perish; and no one shall snatch them out of My hand.” We are complete in Christ in this life and beyond. (cf. John 15:5) A Christian life is a life of hope and victory; a life of divine peace and joy. The Bible contains true life stories of a prostitute who got changed or of a resurrected dead man.

Giving a Testimony

Many Christians want to share their testimonies and experiences with the risen Lord Jesus Christ, especially during prayer meetings. And we don’t have a problem with that because sharing a testimony is biblical. But what kind of statement do you have: a testimonial about how holy you are, and that is why God worked with you and answered all your prayers; or that when you prayed to Jesus, He showed up, because you are more faithful and more favored by God? That’s what I want to talk about using the experience of Dr. Harry Ironside from his book titled: “Holiness: The False and the True (1912).”

Real Love of God Can be Experienced

Where are you?” (Gen. 3:9) It is one verse of Scripture where God demonstrated the existence and authenticity of His real love to Adam and Eve in particular, and to all of the human race in general. God’s love is just so true as the stars in the skies or the fish in the ocean.

Free Salvation Offered by Christ Jesus is Limited to Believers Only

Free salvation offered by Christ. . ..Christ limits His free-salvation offer only to those who believe in His atoning death on the cross. Some think the formula to live eternally is faith in Christ plus church membership, baptism, and other types of moral duty. Concerning good works, the apostle Paul declared that it is the result, and not the cause of salvation. Doing a charitable endeavor, therefore, such as giving money to feed the poor cannot clean and forgive the guilt of a sinful soul. “I am the door,” taught our Lord Jesus, “if anyone enters through Me, he will be saved.” (John 10:9) We are not the “door” to heaven; Christ is!

Kindness Misunderstood

Is it true that your kindness to others will always be rewarded? I don’t think so. We define kindness as the tendency to be forgiving or the “quality of being warmhearted and considerate and humane and sympathetic.”

A compassion that’s expecting a reward or a reciprocal attitude from whom we tender kindness is deceptive and manipulative. Kindness is being nice to others with no ulterior motives. “It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice,” someone once said.

Dependence Upon God is the Key Factor

One strange thing about man’s life is its nature of complete dependence upon another. Self-sufficiency is never life’s architecture. From his mother’s womb down to his lonely grave, something buoyed up man somehow outside of himself. His Maker breathed life upon him.
